Growing Cherry Gelato: what is published
We found no seed sold as Cherry Gelato and no published flowering time for it: Leafly and AllBud describe only the flowers.1,2 One parent, Black Cherry Funk, is listed as clone-only, and the nearest seed is Barney’s Farm’s Black Cherry Gushers, sold from the same two parent names with 9–10 weeks of flowering.3,4

What the plant is like
Descriptions cover the flowers, not the plant. Leafly says Cherry Gelato flowers into dense nugs with dark green and burnt orange foliage; AllBud describes dense, pepper-shaped forest-green nugs with dark purple leaves, thick reddish hairs and chunky golden-white trichomes.1,2 Leafly describes its Acai Berry Gelato parent as a deep purple plant dripping with trichomes.8
What to watch for
Mostly the label. With no seed line under the name that we could find, a plant or clone tagged Cherry Gelato is only as reliable as its source, and the label is shared by other strains: Leafly lists Strawberry Cherry Gelato as Lemon Cherry Gelato × Strawberry Fritter and Blue Cherry Gelato as Blue Nerdz × Lemon Cherry Gelato.9,10 For Black Cherry Gelato, which shares its listed parents, Weedmaps advises attention to airflow and humidity.5
Seeds and the law in the US
Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.11 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.12 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
